On the 16th and the 17th of November 2010 the International Elias Canetti Society organized a public conference in Ruse on the political engagement of artists on both sides of the Danube. With support of the Austrian embassy Sofia and Goethe Institute Bulgaria. Information & program.
The International Elias Canetti Society and the Regional Library "Ljuben Karavelov" in Ruse presented an exhibition about Canetti's works and their translations from all around the world. Part of the exhibition was an exclusive collection of translated books, which were donated by a Swiss collector to the Canetti Society.
The Austrian HALMA scholarship holder Petra Ganglbauer was in October our guest in Ruse. On October 22 she presented some excerpts of her works on a literary reading.
The caricature exhibition "What does Bulgaria think of Germany!?" was officially opened on the 20th October 2010 in the City Gallery of Art. The results of the caricature contest with the identical name were also announced there.

On October 18th, the European day against human trafficking, there was a hip hop performance dedicated to the fight against human trafficking in the Elias Canetti House. The skater scene in Ruse is alive and kicking - thanks to the annual skater festival, organized by IECG and our local partners. The Bulgarian National Television (BNT) made a documentary on the topic which was shown on the 17th October 2010 in Canetti House (trailer).
Experimental electronical sound from Germany – on October 6th the tour project "8 bit - Our world in 16 colours" was our guest in the Canetti House. Supported by the Bosch Foundation and the German Embassy Sofia.
