The Winter Eco School “Neverending Christmas” of eco club “Ela” of the IECS took place in the Regional Library “Ljuben Karavelov”. For four days – from December, 27th to 30th the children got acquainted with some of the major problems of environmental protection, learned more on biodiversity and recycling and realized the importance of each person’s responsibility and participation in nature conservation.

The informal training consisted of educational games, art and applied art workshops. The young ecologists from 1st to 4th grade had the opportunity to use their imagination and make original pieces of art on topic “Nature”. They worked with waste materials and recycled paper to create New Year greeting cards.

Some of the paintings were presented on an exhibition dedicated to the International Day of Biodiversity. The exhibition in the foyer of the library will remain open to the public till mid-January. The eco school was part of our project “Man, Technology, Environment”.
