On April, 1st (Sunday) the General Assembly of the International Elias Canetti Society took place with the participation of Dr. Erhard Busek as a member of the International Advisory Council of the society. Dr. Busek was Vice-Chancellor of Austria and is now Special Co-Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe and Chairman of the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe. During his visit the possibilities for the institutional development of the International Elias Canetti Society were discussed in respect to the diverse activity of the IECS for the last 20 years.

On the General Assembly Mr. Wolfgang Kucera, First Secretary af the Austrian Embassy in Bulgaria, was admitted as a member of the IECS.

At the initiative of Prof. Angelova, Chairperson of the IECS, on April, 2nd (Monday) a series of meetings was organized between Dr. Busek and representatives of the District Administration, Ruse Municipality and the University of Ruse Angel Kanchev. The main topic during these meetings were the priorities in the Danube Strategy for the development of Ruse and the region. Dr. Busek promised his assistance in the implementation of projects in the sphere of scientific cooperation and the joint project of District Administration, Ruse Municipality and the University of Ruse for the construction of a village with zero carbon emissions.
