Another meeting in Café Societé organized by the International Elias Canetti Society took place on June, 30th (Saturday) from 11:00 a.m. in the Blue Hall of the Danube Plaza Hotel. The topic of our discussion were the issues of people with special educational needs. Our guest speaker was Dr. Christopher Williams, lecturer from the University of Birmingham, who shared his experience with the interested audience in Ruse. The discussion began with a screening of the documentary Crimes against people with learning difficulties.

Since 1992 Dr. Williams teaches at the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Birmingham and London. Currently he is a lecturer at the Centre for International Education and Research of the University of Birmingham, Great Britain. He also guest lectures in many different countries around the world, some of which – Switzerland, Jordan, Japan, Afghanistan, Korea, Lebanon, Croatia, India, Kuwait, Mexico, etc. He lectures on topics related to innovative training, intercultural dialogue, environmental protection, social inclusion, human rights and democracy, etc.

From 1989 to 2011 Christopher Williams won more than 30 research projects for organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, Oxfam and many other international foundations. He has published 5 books on leadership, environment protection and people with special educational needs.
