For all skate fans from the region: the skateboard festival “Collision Course” will take place оn Saturday, 10th May 2014 in Ruse for the 8th time. The place of the event will be again the Skatepark behind the City Philharmonic Hall (Dom na kulturata). On 10th May from 10.00 a.m. all willing to participate may sign in for the competition. We expect numerous participants from the region and the country to face each other in the Parkour and Best Trick competitions.

The festival program will start a week earlier with various events. Patric Catani, German producer and DJ, will open the festival with his concert on 2nd May. Since his musical beginnings, he worked with several genres and therefore always increased his field of musical activity. Since 2006 he produces the comic rap project  ILL TILL & Xberg Dhirty6 Cru which he is going to present in Ruse. A humorous clash of his latest release Blingsanity and his rap.

On 3rd May a film screening of „Jesteś Bogiem“ (2012) by Leszek Dawid will take place at Canetti House. The director draws the portrait of the Polish hip-hop group „Paktofonika“ which was active from 1998 to 2003 and laid the foundations of hip-hop scene in Poland.

On Friday, 9th May the festival program will continue at 3 p.m. when the Graffiti Sketches Workshop with graffiti artists from Ruse will take place at Canetti House. At 8 p.m. the program will offer to the audience a film screening of the German movie „Wholetrain“ , directed by Florian Gaag. The film shows the graffiti scene, its social structures, as well as its influence in the public space.

On Sunday, 11th May the end of the festival will mark the screening of the film „Slipping: Skate’s Impact on Egypt“ by Brett Wiese Saunders. The film (2012) tells the story of Egypt’s first and to this day only skateboard store, the invention of which created a skate scene never seen before in Egypt.

The event is organized by the International Elias Canetti Society and the Ruse Skateboard Club, with the financial support of Goethe-Institute Bulgaria, the Polish Institute Sofia, Pozor, Asto Metal, Faros and the Ruse Municipality.
