What does youth in Bulgaria dream and care about? We would like to get into a conversation with youth in Ruse: What issues are important to you? How do you understand your voice and role in Bulgarian as well as European society – nowadays and in the future? Are you interested in expanding your understanding of community and it’s voices? Come and talk to us! Together we’ll discover and build creative perspectives.
„И ние сме тук” (eng. “But we’re here, too!”) is a multi-session art workshop on civic awareness, active citizenship and democracy. Through a variety of art workshops led by artists from Germany and Bulgaria, screenings, discussions, and hands on activities you will build an open environment focused on expressing ideas regarding the space one occupies in society. The workshop will extend from beginning of March through mid April with art based workshops on two weekends, and about five afternoon meetings, time and date to be determined.
March 2nd – 4th, 2018: Visiting artist Artúr van Balen from Berlin will lead the group in hands on construction of inflatable sculptures to stimulate conversation in the group as well as in public space. The process of being jointly creative will raise ideas and aspirations to the surface which will be discussed together (for more information see http://www.toolsforaction.net/ and http://www.arturvanbalen.net/).
