Save your Friday afternoon for this event because:
You will be the first to see the first edition of the Pianist’s memoir in Bulgarian with author Władysław Szpilman. Do you remember the 2002 film of the same name by Roman Polanski and the outstanding acting of Adrian Brody in the lead role? We can now read the true story of the talented musician, Władysław Szpilman, who was miraculously rescued from a concentration camp in Treblinka and later survived in military Poland, thanks to friendly people. One of them is the German officer Wilhelm Hosenfeld, whose memories are also being released for the first time in the Pianist. You will be able to buy the book at a discount during the event.
For the first time in front of a Bulgarian audience we present the Polish poet and essayist Zbigniew Herbert, thanks to famous people from Ruse – father and son Zdravko and Roman Kisyovi. The Seventh Angel was born when Roman Kisyov found a folder with that title in his father’s archive. And as a true creator and a literature loving person, he continued what his father Zdravko Kisyov didn’t.
You will also see the “Nesresani Grafiki ” exhibition from the European Solidarity Center in Gdansk, or, how Polish artist Zygmunt Januszewski had previously seen and after the fall of the Wall.
This is only the opening. Please, find all the events of the five-day program on our website.
