On October, 14th and 15th 2011 in Constanta the second working meeting of the teams from the universities participants in the Bulgarian-Romanian project Cross-Border University Network for Intercultural Communication of the Romania-Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2007-2013 took place. On the meeting the teams discussed the curriculum of the new MA Intercultural Communication and the budget of the project.

Parallel to the working meeting the International Elias Canetti Society organized in Constanta Social events II dedicated to the contemporary Bulgarian and Romanian culture, in which participated artists from Bulgaria and Romania. On October 14th in the City Gallery of Arts we presented the exhibition “River of Light” by professors and students from the University of Veliko Tarnovo, with works of Prof. Penyo Penev, Assoc. Prof. Milen Djanovski, Nevena Lefterova, Veselin Simeonov and others, as well as with the participation of prominent Romanian artists like Aurelian Broasca, Lilia Rus and Smaranda-Miruna Budisteanu.

Later the same evening we presented the newly published Romanian translation of Georgi Grozdev’s novel Prey on a literary reading and the project of Ana Maria Munteanu “Art Portrait of Felicia Serbanescu or The Homeland of Modern European Dance ”. The cultural evening ended with concert of the famous Romanian baritone Ioan Ardelean. The art installation of Rumen Dimitrov-Popa – two enormous sculptured chairs in front of the Art Gallery entrance gained a lot of attention from the audience and the passers-by. The sculptures were created exclusively for this event and will be donated to the Art Gallery of Constanta. On October, 15th the Bulgarian actor Aleksandar Iliev from Theater 199 in Sofia, who entered Guinness with the longest pantomime monodrama – 25 hours without pause, presented in front of the Romanian audience the monodrama Pierrot.

The main aim of the Bulgarian-Romanian project Cross-Border University Network for Intercultural Communication of the Romania-Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2007-2013 is to overcome the psychological boundaries and to support the building of common identity of the people from the region.
