Dear IECS members and friends,

Herewith I would like to inform you that we finally won the law case for Canetti House! The Canetti House project was included in the program “Regions in Growth”, led by the municipality of Ruse. Once the ownership details have been settled, it will be possible for us to prepare first project proposal for the reconstruction of Canetti House.

However, we are now required to pay taxes and duties for the past 10 years. The total amount is 7140.92 BGN, which is approximately 3650 EUR. Of course, this amount of money is not at our disposal. Nevertheless, Canetti House should not suffer any loses for this reason. Hence, let us all contribute with donations for our Canetti House, so that we can continue using it for our cultural activities.

Since international bank transfers from foreign countries to Bulgaria are often charged high fees by banks, Prof. Klaus Roth from Munich, a member of the IECS international board, expressed his willingness to collect the donations at a special account, and then to send the gathered amount of money to the IECS. In Bulgaria, the donations are being gathered at the Bulgarian IECS bank account.

Please note, it is important to specify the purpose of the bank transfer: DONATION CANETTI HOUSE, so that Prof. Roth can recognise your payment as a donation.
