“Sharing Future” Artist in Residence Scholarship

Every year, the International Elias Canetti Society, in cooperation with the Danube University Rectors’ Conference, awards the Artist in Residence grant “SHARING FUTURE” and offers European artists the opportunity to explore the cultural landscape of the Danube city of Ruse.

Erasmus+ project “Language Against Dropout”

In 2015-2018 the International Elias Canetti Society successfully implemented the LAD Erasmus + project. With the help of a scientifically developed concept for the language promotion of Bulgarian as a second language, the project pursues the goal of giving children an optimal start to school and thus counteracting dropouts at the earliest possible stage.

Bulgaria gave them strength

The cultural and artistic project “Bulgaria gave them strength” – 30 Jewish intellectuals of Bulgarian origin in history. Here are presented the scientific, cultural, and social achievements of Bulgarians of Jewish origin who have distinguished themselves in the world.

Voices of Europe

As part of the political and civil society workshops OUR EUROPE – Voices of Europe, adolescents and young adults, supported by journalists and the staff of the IECG, developed radio reports and information on democracy and civil participation.

Workshop: И ние сме тук!

In two intensive “hands-on workshop” weekends with artists from Germany and Bulgaria, young Ruse adults examine in an artistic and creative way what democracy means for them on an everyday, practical level.

We continued writing the “ear witness” of Elias Canetti (2015-2018)The project to continue writing the “ear witness” of Elias Canetti (2015-2018) was carried out by the International Elias Canetti Society and supported by the “Ruse Free Spirit City” foundation and through private donations.The participants had the opportunity to develop their own characters, 52 of which were included in a collection. Authors from different countries who wrote in German, Bulgarian, and English took part in the project.
