Literature, history and architecture as heritage – how they live today, how we see them, how we revive them, how we preserve them and what we add to them for generations. These themes will be the focus of the event, with which the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria and Elias Canetti MD invite Ruthenians to a conversation as old as it is eternally relevant. This will be a free discussion on topics set by the speakers, in which people with interests in the fields will be able to take part. The meeting will be opened by the head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s office in Bulgaria, Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes. Immediately afterwards, Prof. Penka Angelova, President of the Elias Canetti Foundation, will speak about the Nobel laureate’s literary legacy and its importance for Europe. As well as the messages in Elias Canetti’s work, timeless and valid for social, political and life situations today. The theme continues with a walk “In the footsteps of Canetti in Ruse”, in which we will be led by the historian Veselina Antonova and the cultural manager Viktor Kirilov. To give today’s picture of German-Bulgarian relations and cultural exchanges, political expert Andreas von Belov is coming to Ruse. “Ruse’s architectural heritage – a window to Europe” is the last topic in the discussion with a focus on the controversial and transcultural value in monument conservation. This is the place for the participation of Ruse architects as professionals who not only know, but live and work in the delicate surroundings of old buildings. And to cross opinions with a capital architect. The meeting at the Canetti House on Blvd. 12 “Slavyanski” is on Friday, April 14, starting hour 11.00.
